UPDATE

We are already into February and we have won 5 races and almost $100,000 in purses. Oaklawn opened two weeks ago and purses are high and will be raised in the next couple of weeks. Maidens are now $85,000.
Purses in Kentucky this spring will be high (higher than last fall) as the gaming outlets are doing quite well.
The Purses in Indiana will be up roughly 12% from last year. Maiden Specials will be $35,000 due to the success of table games that opened on January 1st. We hope to do well.
We had a good year in 2019 winning over 1.6 million dollars in purse money, but hope to get over the 2 million mark again in 2020. In 2019 we were named Indiana Breeders of 2018 which was our sixth time receiving the honor.
We are looking for a big year in 2020.

Keeneland Sales

The sales start today at Keeneland and run through Friday. This is a mixed sale of Broodmares/racing prospects/yearlings and much more. Something for everyone.

Remember: Renew your racing license today!

Update

We are near crossing the million mark in earnings for the year. Hopefully it will happen tomorrow.

The Saratoga meet is two thirds over. We have had one win, one third, two fifths and two starts out of the money. Not bad. Hopefully all the horses will get to run back there before the meet in over.

We are looking to claim something there as the purses at Kentucky Downs and Churchill are up considerably.

The Keeneland yearling sales are coming up the second week of September. Churchill opens for their fall meet and the purses are up as maidens run for $95,000. Bottom purse is $26,000. Keeneland will have their October meet and Churchill runs again in November.

Update

Won a nice race at Saratoga. Followed up and ran 2nd seven times and finished 3rd in a Stake.

Today we broke the streak with a dead heat for 1st at Belterra.

Trivia Question

Trivia Question for the day:

Since Mike Smith has now chosen Omaha Beach over Roadster for the Kentucky Derby and F. Geroux has picked up the mount of Roadster for the Derby, will this prove to be a bad choice or a good choice?

In the early 60’s one Hall of Fame rider picked two horses in two Derby’s to ride,  only to watch the non chosen horses to run by him on the first Saturday in May by another Hall of Fame Rider.

Can you name the riders and the horses?
