All is well.

Everything is safe at Churchill.  Still no electricity when I left – just some temporary lights.  They were trying to shut off the sprinkler line that was flooding the shed row, but the horses were well and still.  undefinedundefinedundefined

This is the opposite side of our barn.  The roof fell down and the loft was opened up.  Inside of all that clutter is the sprinkler line that broke and was running when I left.  undefinedundefinedCrazy that no horses were hurt and the barns looked like this – falling cinder blocks and all.  undefinedundefinedundefinedAnother view of our barn.  undefined

Dreamin Big + Tornados

We did win a race at indiana tonight – Dreamin Big won her first time back.  In the meantime, Churchill had a tornado that damaged our barn that we’ve been in for 28 years.  Damaged a few other barns, too.  Barn 23’s roof collapsed on the hay loft, but all the horses seem fine so far.  All of our horses are fine and have no injuries at all.  We’ll keep you posted in the morning and let you know more as we do.  Dad’s on his way back from Indiana and is going to stop by the track on his way through.  We did have to move a few horses to another barn because of a water leak in the sprinkler system, but all is well.

Hello Half Million

We passed the half million mark in total purse earnings for 2011. We are at a total of 21 wins for the year with PURELY AMATURE winning the 3rd race at Indiana Downs tonight. We are on pace to reach the million dollar mark for the year. Our goal was to win more races this year than last (which was 42) but we really want to win over 50. We would love to win a race for each and every one of you and your friends. There are two more weeks of Churchill and the claiming is good, so get involved. Racing is not dead.
