Reality TV

Did you ever think with all this reality TV that you would find out that the Turtle Man from the hills of Eastern Kentucky would stage a poison snake recovery from a public pool in Danville, Kentucky?

Danville is one of the prettiest little towns you will find in America. Home of Centre College which held the Vice Presidential debate for the last election. They have a big brass band festival every spring. Danville is about 40 miles southwest of Lexington.

Reality enhanced.

Ellen’s Lucky Star Stakes

We had an Indiana Bred filly named HARBOR CAT that we bought in February of 2012 that won the Ellen’s Lucky Star Stakes over the weekend. It was scheduled to be on the Turf but do to heavy rain it was run in the slop on the main track. When the horse has never ran in heavy slop you never know how you will do, as there are many stages of mud and slop (fresh rain, drying 2 day rain, bad track man and rain). But she seemed to handled it pretty well. This takes her total earnings to $128,000. Next month we will try for the grass on July 17th going a mile and sixteenth for $150,000.

We also ran a homebred Filly named DINGALINGALING who ran 3rd in the same stake. Pretty good to have two out of three in the trifecta.

We ran two colts in the boys Stake and they didn’t handle the mud at all. We will try again for the grass on July 17th.

Stable earnings are now over $445,000 for the year, 20 wins, 15 seconds, 7 thirds.

18 wins!

The stable is at 18 wins for the year to date and $350,000 in purse money won. We ran our first 2 yr. old the last day of May finishing a good second. We also just ran another Two Year Old this weekend in a maiden special finishing a good 4th. Both races were at Churchill Downs. Good beginnings for the 2 year olds of 2013.
