Churchill Over……….Oaklawn on the horizon

Churchills’ fall meet just ended. We managed to win one race, lose one horse to a claim and claimed a horse winning a ten way shake. We are still looking for horses to go to Oaklawn and also looking to claim some at Turfway to take to Oaklawn. The purses there are much higher and claiming is very aggressive. Maidens run for $75,000.

We also won two races in New York this month, which was great. We ended our New York season with three wins and a stakes placing with total earnings of $142,877.

The yearlings are almost all broke and being ridden daily on the farm.

Took a day off and went to the Ohio State/Michigan game and had a great time. It was a great game with two overtimes. I know I got my moneys worth.

Thanks……..Giving

We flipped over the $1.7 mark in purses earned for the year so far. Inching our way a bit closer to the new goal. We are at 54 wins for the year. Looking for a boost this week to celebrate the turkey!

Winner in New York

The stable had a winner in New York today. ROOFTOP VIEW (By Utopia(JPN) out of Wrigley Ivy) won the fourth race at Aqueduct today. This is the colts second win pushing his earnings over $108,000. He paid $24.60, $12.40, $8.80. Must have gotten the Cubby Fever!

Indiana Ends

The Indiana Grand Meet has come to an end for 2016. The stable finished with 38 wins, 34 seconds and 42 thirds and earned purse money totally over $1,303,000. We were the runner up in the leading trainer category missing by just 3 wins, but finished first in total money won.

We had two Stakes wins with BADABING BADABOOM and TEQUILA AND SALT and placed in multiple stakes with WHISTLE STOP, KITTY CORNER and TEQUILA AND SALT.

The last four days of the meet we won one race each day. The entire crew worked really hard to make this meet such a success. A big Thank You to Brandi and Lisa and to all involved!

The sales are on at Keeneland for the next two weeks and there are over 100 racing age horses available. Arkansas is right around the corner and the purses are great. Now is the time to get ramped up with some new four legged prospects.  If you don’t like the sales, we can claim something at Churchill which is always a great spot to pick up a winner.

Give me a call and we can put together a plan of action.

Breeders Cup Races

Today and Tomorrow is the Breeders Cup. I am going to give you a couple of picks (whether you need them or not is another question).

Songbird is my pick of the day today in the Breeders Cup Distaff. Her two performances at Saratoga were the most impressive you will ever see. I think Stellar Win will be 2nd.

I think Dortmund will win the Breeders Cup Dirt Mile with Tamarkuz coming in 2nd. Run Happy off the board.

Both Juvenile Turf races will lean toward Europe.

Good Luck
